Music festival All Points East has announced the replacement for Doechii, who pulled out of the event just days before she was set to perform this weekend.

Fans were devastated after the Victoria Park, London, festival announced that she would not be performing on Saturday, August 23.

‘We’re very sorry to announce that Doechii, 27, will no longer be performing at her upcoming shows,’ a statement on Instagram read.

‘She is an incredible artist, and, like all of her fans, we were hugely excited to see her on stage. All Points East has an amazing line-up including RAYE, Tyla, JADE, Jyoty, Nao and many more, and it’s set to be a truly unforgettable day.’

The Grammy winner has also pulled out of Paris’ Rock En Seine in Paris on Thursday and Bristol’s Forwards on Sunday.

Now, the festival has confirmed that FKA twigs will headline the West Stage on Saturday, in the slot Doechii was previously scheduled to fill.

FKA twigs is a singer, songwriter, dancer, and visual artist known for her genre-defying sound and groundbreaking visuals.

All Points East Weekend Two Lineup

Barry Can’t Swim (22 August) – Also appearing are pop duo Confidence Man, Orbital, alt-pop star Shygirl and DJ The Blessed Madonna

Raye and FKA twigs (23 August) – Other performers that day include Tyla, Doechii, Jade, Nao and Cat Burns

The Maccabees (24 August) – Also on the line-up are Bombay Bicycle Club, CMAT, Black Country, New Road and Sprints.

She began her career as a dancer, appearing in music videos for artists such as Jessie J, Ed Sheeran, and Kylie Minogue, before transitioning into her own music and releasing her debut EP, EP1, in 2012, followed by EP2 in 2013, which showcased her unique blend of R&B, electronic, and experimental sounds.

Her first full-length album, LP1 (2014), earned widespread critical acclaim and a Mercury Prize nomination, establishing her as one of the most innovative voices in contemporary music.

Twigs is equally celebrated for her visual artistry: her music videos and performances often merge avant-garde choreography, surreal imagery, and cutting-edge technology, making her one of the most exciting live music acts of the current moment.

Her 2015 project M3LL155X pushed boundaries further, combining music and film in a bold, immersive statement.

Her second album, Magdalene (2019), explored themes of femininity, heartbreak, and resilience, praised for its emotional depth and sonic experimentation. In 2022, she released the mixtape Caprisongs, showcasing a more playful, collaborative side of her artistry, blending UK club sounds with global influences.

She’s earned a vast legion of fans over the years, and her live performances are almost universally critically acclaimed.

Thousands are expected to attend the festival this coming weekend to see her perform, with crowds packing the park for performances by acts like Chase & Status and Cleo Sol this past weekend.

The event, which launched in 2018, has quickly become one of the most anticipated music events in London. Many fans initially reacted with dismay when Doechii’s cancellation was announced this week.

The Instagram post announcing the news was flooded with comments like boluberry3m’s admission: ‘I just fell to my knees in M&S,’ as abi_afro added: ‘I was willing to fight the dust for Doechii 💔’

‘The whole reason I’m coming!! 😭 who’s replacing her ??,’ asked jessdudfield.

However, it now seems the festival was able to avoid disappointing fans too badly by securing an equally explosive act in FKA twigs for the Saturday main stage.
