Danny Murphy believes Liam Delap will be ‘disappointed’ after being substituted early in Chelsea’s 5-1 win against West Ham on Friday night.
Enzo Maresca’s side went behind at the London Stadium as Lucas Paqueta’s long-range strike put West Ham ahead in the sixth minute.
But woeful defending from Graham Potter’s side allowed Chelsea to take a 3-1 lead by half time following goals from Joao Pedro, Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez.
Chelsea piled more misery on West Ham after the break as goals from Moises Caicedo and Trevoh Chalobah sealed their 5-1 victory and a second successive defeat for West Ham in the Premier League.
Delap, meanwhile, led Chelsea’s attack with Joao Pedro playing just behind him in the No.10 role following Cole Palmer’s injury in the warm-up.

However, Chelsea’s £30 million summer signing was unable to find the net before he was replaced by Andrey Santos in the 62nd minute.
‘He’s done alright, I think he’ll be disappointed he’s been brought off at 5-1 and he hasn’t scored,’ Murphy said of Delap during his commentary for talkSPORT.

‘He has contributed, he’s been a focal point, a great touch for the third goal, he’s been a handful on the goalkeeper to create the fifth goal on the set-play.
‘His mum and dad in the crowd there will be very proud of him.
‘But he will be disappointed because he will sense chances here in the last 30 minutes.’
Meanwhile, Joao Pedro believes Chelsea showcased their attacking ‘power’ against West Ham in Palmer’s absence.
‘We started the game having gone one goal down, but we showed our togetherness today to win the game,’ said the Brazilian forward.
‘I think we know our power. When we started the game, the first thing we thought about was winning. We’ve got so much power in the team. Cole Palmer was out today but we played Estevao Willian and he showed his quality. It’s good to have a team like this.
‘With [so many] different players scoring today, that will help give confidence to the team. That confidence will help us keep going.
‘To have the first win away is very important for us. It helps to prepare us for other games. You never know, you can go 1-0 down, but if you have the confidence, then you can change the game.’
