NFL Analyst Roasts Chiefs for Super Bowl LIX Loss to Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles are riding high heading into the 2025 campaign. After dominating in Super Bowl LIX against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Eagles are the team to beat heading into the new season, and until someone takes them down, they will be the favorite to repeat as Super Bowl champions this season.

With Kansas City looking to win its third straight Super Bowl, Philadelphia dominated them from start to finish, with the final score settling in at 40-22. However, even that score makes the game look closer than it actually was, leading NFL analyst Ross Tucker to drop a bold claim that will surely make Eagles fans everywhere thrilled.

Ross Tucker’s Bold Super Bowl LIX Claim

There was a lot of hype heading into the Super Bowl last season. Both the Eagles and Chiefs enjoyed dominant postseason runs, and beyond that, there was some history between the two sides, as they had met up just two years prior in Super Bowl LVII, with Kansas City pulling out a 38-35 victory at the buzzer.

This time around, though, there was no such suspense. The Eagles scored the game’s first 34 points, leading to the contest effectively being over by halftime. The Chiefs didn’t put their first points on the board until there were 34 seconds left in the third quarter, but at that point, it didn’t even matter, as the game had already been decided.

Still, even with their hopes all but gone, Kansas City didn’t give up until the clock struck zero, and they ended up scoring a pair of garbage-time touchdowns in the fourth quarter. While their fight was admirable, some folks are upset at how the final score of the game doesn’t reflect Philly’s complete and utter domination. To that point, Tucker revealed that he believes the final score of Super Bowl LIX should have been 40-6 instead of 40-22.

“Till the day I die, that Super Bowl was 40-6,” Tucker said during the broadcast of the Eagles’ preseason finale against the New York Jets on Friday night. “I wanted to buy bumper stickers and sell them that said 40-6 … I don’t care what they say the final score was, it was Eagles 40, Chiefs six, till the day I die.”

Eagles Looking to Repeat as Super Bowl Champions in 2025

At the end of the day, the Eagles won’t care how much they won the Super Bowl by, as long as they ended up hoisting the Lombardi Trophy when all was said and done, which they did. Now, they have set their sights on doing it again, as the resounding message throughout training camp has been that they aren’t content with winning just one title.

And while repeating as a champion is always tough, Philadelphia appears to be in a prime position to pull it off. Their roster is stacked with the same talented players that helped them win last year, and the team found its groove on both sides of the ball in the postseason. If they can pick up right where they left off, no team is going to want to line up against the Eagles in 2025.
