Ahead of the 30th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death, there are rumours that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are making a new documentary with Netflix.

The Sussexes recently renewed their contract with Netflix, meaning a second season of Meghan’s ‘With Love, Meghan’ show and other specials could be in the works.

But The Sun has reported Prince Harry is hoping to produce a 2027 documentary for the 30th anniversary of his mum’s death.

The pair’s ‘Harry & Meghan’ docuseries, which aired in 2022, was a major hit for Netflix.

Harry has previously been involved in documentaries about his mother, including the 2017 documentary ‘Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy’.

Both Harry and Prince William took part in filming for that feature, but it’s unclear if William would have any involvement in the new proposed documentary.

But Harry was accused of ‘exploiting’ his late mother in his 2022 Netflix show by the former butler and royal aide of Princess Diana, Paul Burrell.

In the series, the Duke of Sussex warned he ‘didn’t want history to repeat itself’ and made comparisons between his wife and his mother, showing old clips and images.

Appearing on Lorraine Kelly’s ITV daytime show, Burrell began: ‘Talk about exploiting the Princess’ [Diana’s] image, and talk about showing images which William does not want to be seen again on television, there’s bound to be conflict between the two boys.

‘Meghan isn’t Diana. Diana is from a different age, a different person through time, and things happened to her that will never happen to Meghan.’

He continued: ‘This couple could have had it all! They would have been at the heart of the royal family now, as the King’s family.

‘They would have been protected by the police, and royal palaces and royal security. They would have been phenomenal for the royal family.’

Harry’s involvement with Netflix hasn’t been a big hit with everyone.

His charity lost a fundraising venue after the Duke of Sussex insisted on bringing a Netflix film crew, its chair claimed amid accusations of ‘harassment and bullying’ against the royal.

This claim has been described as ‘completely baseless’ by a source close to the former trustees of the charity.

Sentebale had bagged a discount for using a ‘very generous’ family’s property for its charity polo tournament in Miami in April last year, the chair, Dr Sophie Chandauka, told Sky News.

But a month before, Prince Harry allegedly announced he wanted to bring a Netflix crew, turning it into a commercial venture and costing them the discount.
