The Stanford football team’s season-opening game with Hawaii is being televised nationally on CBS. But in the Bay Area, the game is being shown on the local CBS affiliate’s other station, KPIX+, or KPYX.
The game is not on CBS Bay Area, or Ch. 5 for most local viewers, because the network is televising the 49ers’ preseason game against the Los Angeles Chargers at Levi’s Stadium.
KPIX+, or KPYX, can be found on Chs. 12, 712, or 1044 for Xfinity subscribers, and on Ch. 44 for DirecTV, and Dish Network and Wave Broadband viewers.
Viewers can also watch the Stanford vs. Hawaii football game on Paramount+ with the Premium plan, or streamed here.
Frank Reich has come out of retirement to coach in college for the first time while Stanford GM Andrew Luck, his former QB at Indianapolis, searches for a permanent replacement.
They will try to defy expectations at a program that went 3-9 (2-6 in conference) in its first year in the ACC and once again saw many of its top players transfer out. A program-record 17 transfers includes seven potential starters led by QB Ben Gulbranson, who spent the past five seasons at Oregon State.
