Katie Price’s so-called Mucky Mansion is back in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.

The run-down West Sussex property, which was the former home of the TV star, has previously been described as ‘hell’ and a ‘curse’ by Katie, 47, who even issued a warning to the new owners, who have now been revealed.

In addition, Katie’s daughter, Princess Andre, raised eyebrows this week when recalling her time living in the detached nine-bedroom home, cryptically revealing she had ‘bad experiences’.

The 18-year-old told The Guardian: ‘It was a really scary house.

‘A lot went on there. So I didn’t really like it. I guess when you have had bad experiences somewhere you don’t like the place.’

Furniture tycoon James Mercer reportedly purchased the house earlier this year, with his partner revealing to the Daily Mail that they had ‘fallen in love’ with it.

While both Katie and Princess didn’t exactly enjoy their time living in the Mucky Mansion, it does boast some features which the new owners will inevitably love.

The property is made up of three reception rooms, nine bedrooms, and four bathrooms spread across three floors and an annex. Horse lover Katie also frequently made use of the stables in the sprawling garden.

So what is actually wrong with the Mucky Mansion?

While living in the house, which was even the subject of a Channel 4 series, Katie allowed fans to catch a glimpse inside, but revealed she was dealing with collapsing ceilings, damp, and mould.

Sadly the house was also targeted by TikTokers who ‘broke in’ and filmed their findings for a social media video.

As well as all of its physical flaws, Katie shared her fears that the house was haunted by the spirit of a small child.

‘It is absolutely cursed. My anxiety got worse with that house. There was a point when I couldn’t even walk up the driveway without having a panic attack,’ she said.

‘I had therapy about the house. I should never have gone back there. Now I’m out of it it’s the best thing I’ve ever done.’

On her Channel 4 series, Katie Price’s Mucky Mansion, the former Page 3 model shared her big plans for the house, and had hoped to do up the kitchen, change the floors, and switch out the dark woodwork.

And with 10 acres of land, a tennis court and swimming pool, she was hopeful that she could turn it into her dream home.

The mother-of-five told viewers: ‘My house has been called the Mucky Mansion in the past, but it’s not that anymore, I’m making it a home.

‘I’m getting my hands dirty and doing a lot of the work myself and, with the help of my amazing family and some brilliant friends, I’m putting the past behind me and rebuilding.

‘My house is a bit like my life, it’s being put back together like I’m being put back together.’

But after several years of attempting to breathe life back into the property, it was reported in May 2024 that the star had been served an eviction notice after filing for bankruptcy, which Katie also denied.

She later claimed that she ‘handed back the keys’ to the home after being conned in a fly-tipping scam.

‘I hate that house. Whoever buys it, I warn them, they will get bad luck there,’ she said.

Katie now lives in a four-bed Sussex home for a reported £5,000 a month with her boyfriend JJ Slater.

In recent weeks, Katie has become embroiled in drama with her former husband Peter Andre after he shared a lengthy statement on social media about their children Princess and Junior’s welfare.

‘For sixteen years, I have stayed silent in the face of repeated lies from my ex-wife and her family, out of respect for my children and loved ones, but staying silent has been incredibly frustrating. That ends today,’ he wrote.

He then went on to write that he wanted to ‘set the record straight’ and revealed that Junior and Princess came into his care in 2018 and remained with him until they reached adulthood.

‘In 2019, the family courts issued a legally binding order to enforce this arrangement. I have never made this public before, out of respect for my children.

‘In 2011 and 2015, publicly documented court cases, found my ex-wife had made false claims. She was ordered to pay substantial damages and legal costs, and to apologise, to me and my management. The same falsehoods are being repeated today.

‘Unfortunately, there are many more lies and baseless accusations I have yet to address. Those will now be dealt with in the coming months.’

Katie later shared a statement of her own, sharing that she had ‘allowed myself to fall into a reliance on drugs and alcohol’ and was ‘at times, not the mother I should have been while I struggled with mental illness’.
