Jannik Sinner Makes Stunning Admission About Love Life

Four-time Grand Slam winner and ATP world No. 1 Jannik Sinner is a man in love.

After being spotted with 31-year-old Russian model Lara Lieto earlier this year, Sinner then caught the attention of fans when Danish model Laila Hasanovic was in his player box at Wimbledon.

Ahead of his first-round match against Vit Kopriva at the US Open, Sinner spoke with Italian outlet Corriere Della Sera to discuss a wide range of topics.

At one point during the interview, the Italian star was asked point-blank whether he’s in love. In response, he stated, in Italian:

“Sì ma della vita privata non parliamo.’”

“Yes, [I’m in love], but let’s not talk about private life.” (via Translate.com)

Although it’s clear that Sinner wants to keep his personal life private, the comments have already caught the attention of fans.

Sinner’s Recent Comments At Cincinnati Open Resurface

In response to Sinner’s comments about being in love, fans seemingly went through recent interview footage in an attempt to learn more.

Interestingly enough, earlier this month, while competing at the Cincinnati Open, Sinner cryptically referenced “all the close people” in his life whom he calls when he wakes up in the morning.

While speaking to Prakesh Armitraj at the Tennis Channel desk, Sinner was asked how he unwinds between matches.

In response, he stated:

“At the moment, because we have this time difference, my family’s at home, so my family and all the close people, I call when I wake up, which makes things a little bit easier. I haven’t changed the time [on my watch], so I know exactly what time it is. There it’s 11 now, so they’re going to sleep now.”

You can see his comments at the 4:57 mark of the video below.

Although he didn’t mention anyone in particular, the term “close people” was enough to get fans talking in the wake of his revelation about being in love.

Sinner Shot Down Dating Rumors Earlier This Summer

As Heavy reported back in July, Danish model Laila Hasanovic was seen in Sinner’s player box during his championship run at SW19.

Prior to that, as mentioned previously, Sinner was seen with model Lara Lieto in April.

Several weeks later, while speaking to members of the press before the start of the Italian Open, Sinner poured cold water on the rumors of a relationship.

“I’m very happy to be back here, it has been three very long months. I was glad to share some great moments with my family, my friends, we were practicing very hard. … There’s a lot of attention. Also kind of off the court, I was surprised to see some pictures, which, nothing serious, let’s say. I’m not in a relationship, so whoever is asking.”

Just two months later, Hasanovic was then seen in Jannik Sinner’s player box during Wimbledon.

Since then, the world No. 1 hasn’t been linked to anyone else, leading fans to speculate that Hasanovic is the woman the Italian star is seemingly in love with.

Whether she makes an appearance at Flushing Meadows for the final Slam of the year, only time will tell.
