Kirk Herbstreit’s Dog Steals the Show With a Hilarious Cameo on ‘College GameDay’
ESPN’s hit show “College GameDay” got off to a fun start on Saturday, Aug. 30, as the panel traveled to Columbus, Ohio, for No. 3 Ohio State’s Week 1 matchup against No. 1 Texas.
And of course, Kirk Herbstreitâs dog, Peter, also made the trip. But not just that. He was actually responsible for one of the funniest and most memorable moments of the show.
Pat McAfee had the first contestant of the season step up for his field goal contest. If the fan nails the shot, they win $250,000.”
But as the Ohio State student was preparing for his opportunity, Peter could be seen in the background taking care of business.
âPeter is taking a dump in the middle of the field-goal kicking contest,â McAfee said on-air. âSniff it in, Logan. That is Peterâs manure. Now, through manure, great things grow. Will Peterâs poop grow you $250,000?â
With only one attempt, Logan made the field goal, and he was then surrounded by Herbstreit, actor Glen Powell, and others to celebrate. However, it seems he might have gotten a little too excited.
âI donât want to be the bearer of bad news,â McAfee said after. âYou definitely stepped in Peterâs poop during your celebration, but who cares? Buy yourself some new shoes.â

Lee Corso officially signed off from ESPN’s “College GameDay” on Saturday after 38 years, and his legacy was celebrated during the show.
Corso turned 90 earlier this month and decided to go out in the same place where it all began, making one last headgear pick.
âThis is one of the easiest picks Iâve ever made ⦠Give me my first love,â Corso said, referencing his first headgear pick in 1996 by picking Ohio State. He then put on the team mascot, Brutus Buckeyeâs, head.
During his time on the show, Corso made 431 picks.
