Throughout her run to the US Open final, Aryna Sabalenka has turned heads, not only with highlight-reel winners and crunch-time aces, but with a stunning two-piece necklace combo.
In Sabalenka’s semifinal clash with American standout Jessica Pegula on Thursday, the two pieces of jewelry danced under the bright lights on Arthur Ashe Stadium court, catching the attention of fans.
One featured a single pink tourmaline hanging from a gold chain, while the other featured seven teardrop-shaped diamonds and a red imperial topaz.
In total, the two pieces are worth over $50,000, and that doesn’t include the $5,500 earring combo Sabalenka was wearing.
Off-Court Outfit Intrigue, an account on Twitter that gives fans insights into some of the high-end pieces of jewelry (and clothing) worn by players, shed light on the two-piece necklace combo.
“Material Good x Aryna Exclusive ‘The Aryna’ 10.72ct cushion cut pink tourmaline and gold pendant ($21950)
“‘The Aryna’ choker with seven pear shaped diamonds and one imperial topaz ($28500)”
The account also noted the $2,500 diamond stud earrings worn by Sabalenka, as well as another unique pair of earrings worth $13,650.
Sabalenka’s Jewelry on Full Display in SF Clash With Pegula
The world No. 1’s jewelry was on full display Thursday night when she and American standout Jessica Pegula competed in a highly-anticipated rematch of last year’s US Open final.
After going three straight matches without taking a set off Aryna Sabalenka, Pegula opened up Thursday’s night session with a 6-4 first set, putting the pressure on the defending champion.
Despite that, the three-time Grand Slam champ was able to battle back, taking the second set 6-3, and the third 6-4.
As she explained during her on-court interview, with her $65,000 jewelry ensemble on full display:
“It was a really tough match. She played incredible tennis as always and I had to work really hard to get this win. Of course, I’m super happy to get the win against Jessica, she’s such a great player, great fighter, always tough matches.
“Just super happy to be in the finals again and hopefully I can go all the way again.”
Sabalenka Looking to Make History at the US Open
While finalist Amanda Anisimova will be looking to capture her maiden Grand Slam title, Sabalenka is looking to make history.
It’s been more than a decade since a woman has won back-to-back US Open titles, a feat most recently accomplished by Serena Williams, who won three straight titles in 2012, 2013, and 2014.
Now, Sabalenka will look to follow in her footsteps.
With her signature comedic delivery, Aryna Sabalenka explained what the chance to go back-to-back means to her:
“It means a lot. I’ll go out there on Saturday… Right? We’re playing on Saturday? I’ll go out there on Saturday and I’ll fight for every point like the last point of my life.”
After coming up short in the final of both the Australian Open and the French Open this season, the world No. 1 will look to close out the year by adding a fourth Grand Slam to an already stellar resume.
