The New York Giants are a new team this year, but their starting quarterback is no newbie. Russell Wilson, 36, has been to two Super Bowls in his career, Super Bowl XLVIII and Super Bowl XLIX, and he won Super Bowl XLVIII in 2014 when he was with the Seattle Seahawks. He’s also had steady success on years when he wasn’t able to go all the way to the big game. Simply put, he’s a consistent player, and that’s something that will benefit the Giants this season.
Wilson is on a one-year deal with the New York Giants to hopefully help turn the franchise around, and even though rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart is largely considered the future of the franchise, Wilson has made it clear that he’s all about New York.
Wilson is married to musician Ciara, and the two have been married since 2016. Ciara has a son, Future, from her previous relationship with rapper Future, and she and Wilson are also parents to three children they had together: Sienna, Win and Amora. According to a report from TMZ, Ciara has now legally added Wilson to her oldest song’s legal name. People started wondering about his name when Ciara and Wilson attended the U.S. Open this week with their kids, and when Wilson posted a photo of Ciara and their family, Future’s last name was listed Future Wilson instead of Future Zahir.
Sources tall TMZ that “Ciara has full custody of her 11-year-old, and ‘Wilson’ was legally added to his name a few years back.” TMZ adds that “he still has his dad Future’s last name Wilburn in his full legal name.”

Wilson has made it clear that he’s thrilled to be in New York. “Coming to work here is a blessing every day. I don’t even consider it work; it’s just getting to do what we love to do. To be a New York Giant is an honor,” he told reporters.
“Yeah, this is the great part about the season,” he added. “Obviously, to be able to get through training camp, OTAs, all that, and all the work that we’ve done as a team, a collective effort, and the growth.”
He continued, “We’ve had a lot of great days, a lot of great moments, obviously, in the preseason, OTAs, all the camaraderie, all that part, that’s been great. I think what’s exciting is we get to do what we love to do here in 13 days, or however many days it is. It’s exciting, and we just stay focused on the task.”
So, what should the Giants fanbase expect from this season? Wilson says they won’t be disappointed.
“I think the biggest thing we’ll bring is tough-nose football, physical, offense, defense, special teams, a team that believes in each other, ultimately,” Wilson said. “And that’s really all that matters, that we believe in each other.”
