The northbound lanes of Interstate 25 near Mead are closed after police arrested a driver who hit multiple cars after driving the wrong way, according to the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.
The interstate is closed between Exit 245 and mile point 247. It was not immediately clear when the road would reopen.
At approximately 12:30 p.m., deputies attempted to stop a vehicle for traffic violations in south Loveland, according to a social media post from the sheriff’s office. The driver of the vehicle then began driving against traffic in the northbound lanes of I-25, hitting several vehicles. Police have taken the driver into custody.
One person was injured in one of the crashes and was taken to a hospital.
