<p id=”par-2_21″>On September 29, the former <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/nfl/?swcfpc=1″>NFL</a> star reported to a jail in Tennessee to begin his DUI sentence, according to <a href=”https://www.tmz.com/2025/09/29/jay-cutler-begins-jail-sentence-for-dui/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>TMZ</a>. </p>

<p id=”par-3_29″>Cutler, 42, is currently behind bars at the Williamson County Jail. But his stay at the jail will be short. He’s expected to be released on Friday, October 3. </p>
<p id=”par-4_52″>The ex-Chicago Bears player was sentenced after pleading guilty to a DUI in late August. A judge also ordered him to pay a $350 fine. After he’s released, he’ll be on probation for a year and will have to attend a DUI safety class. His Tennessee driver’s license has also been revoked. </p>

<p id=”par-5_47″>Cutler’s legal problem began in October 2024, when he rear-ended another vehicle in Franklin, Tenn. Police noticed that the former <em>Very Cavallari </em>star had “bloodshot eyes” and “a strong odor of alcohol” on him, <a href=”https://people.com/jay-cutler-slurring-words-police-new-details-dui-arrest-8730433″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>People</a> reported at the time. Officers also found two guns in his car. </p>
<p id=”par-6_44″>Cutler was arrested and charged with a DUI, illegal possession of a gun while intoxicated, implied consent and failure to exercise due care to avoid a collision. The gun charge was dropped as part of Cutler’s guilty plea on the DUI charge, <a href=”https://wgntv.com/news/jay-cutler-sentenced-to-4-days-in-jail-for-dui-gun-charge-dropped/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>WGN</a> reports. </p>
<p id=”par-7_37″>Cutler played three seasons with the Denver Broncos, eight seasons with the Bears, and one season with the Miami Dolphins. He married <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/kristin-cavallari-mentioned-changes-custody-agreement-weeks-jay-cutlers-dui-gun-charges-arrest.html/”>Kristin Cavallari from <em>The Hills</em></a><em> </em>in 2013. They had three children before divorcing in 2022. </p>
