A man who had three child passengers with him in the car when he crashed has been charged with trying to kill them.
Tancredo Bankhardt, 40, from Great Yarmouth, is accused of attempted murder over the three-car crash on the A146 between Hales and Loddon shortly after 8.30pm on September 26.
Police said officers had received a call less than an hour before the collision, raising concerns for the safety of a man and three children.
They tried to find the blue Vauxhall Astra and speak with Bankhardt before the smash, they added.
Norfolk Police said it has referred itself to watchdog the Independent Office for Police Conduct due to the prior contact, as is standard procedure.
