Motorcyclist killed in Denver crash that shut down I-70

Denver police are investigating a fatal Thursday morning crash involving motorcyclists on Interstate 70 near Berkeley Lake, according to the department.

The Denver Police Department first posted about the crash on I-70 at Tennyson Street at 1:24 a.m. Thursday. It’s unclear how many people and vehicles were involved, but at least one person died.

I-70 in that area travels along the border of Denver’s Regis and Berkeley neighborhoods.

Shortly before 1 a.m., eastbound I-70 was closed at Sheridan Boulevard and westbound I-70 was closed at Federal Boulevard for the crash, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

The highway had fully reopened to traffic in both directions by 3:45 a.m. Thursday, according to state transportation officials.

No additional information about the crash, including the cause, was available.
