Taylor Swift teams up with TikTok for ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ Los Angeles pop up

The cruel summer is over, with autumn leaves falling down like pieces into place. If you’re a Swiftie, you know this signals the start of a new Taylor Swift album era.

The Life of a Showgirl” comes out at midnight on Oct. 3, or 9 p.m. on Oct. 2 if you’re on the West Coast and Los Angeles is home to an exclusive pop-up. TikTok is hosting a fan activation for Swift’s new album that will take place at the Westfield Century City, on the Atrium on Level 1, from Oct. 3-9.

Swifties will be able to enter the showgirl’s dressing room and visit sets inspired by “The Fate of Ophelia” music video, that will premiere during the Official Release Party of a Showgirl event taking place at movie theatres across the country from Oct. 3-5, including the AMC Century City.

While the event is already sold out on Eventbrite, there will be a walk-up registration available at check-in. After all registered guests have completed the experience, those who didn’t obtain a reservation might be able to attend the pop-up if time allows.

But the in-person event isn’t the only way TikTok is celebrating “The Life of a Showgirl.” In September, the company launched an in-app experience to promote the new album. Fans were able to join the campaign by searching for “Taylor Swift” or “The Life of a Showgirl” on TikTok. From there, they could partake in weekly missions to unlock exclusive profile frames and knock on the infamous orange door, the one eagle-eyed fans have pointed out was used to close out Swift’s Eras Tour each night.

After the door unlocks on Oct. 3 at midnight ET, fans who’ve completed every mission will be able to enter the hub and gain access to exclusive content that’s been hidden behind the door.

But if you didn’t participate in the TikTok event, there are still plenty of ways to celebrate the album’s release on the app. Swifties will also be able to visit their history following Swift on TikTok, from the moment they followed her on the social video app, reliving the Eras Tour and even looking back on the first Taylor Swift song they ever used on a TikTok video. Additionally, Swifties will discover which track from “The Life of a Showgirl” best reflects their journey, which will be revealed with a personalized, shareable card.

Additionally, the experience tab will be the place to be on TikTok for Swifties looking to see official posts from Swift, as well as popular fan videos to ring in the new era. Los Angeles Swifties will be able to use the tab to find more details about how to attend the TikTok fan activation.

In addition to the “The Life of a Showgirl” filter that’s currently available to use for making content in the app to replicate the album artwork, TikTok is also unveiling a TikTok effect that lets users step into “The Fate of Ophelia” music video.
