Family First: Keith Urban Keeps Photo of Nicole Kidman & Kids in Concert Slideshow Amid Divorce Filing

Keith Urban Holds Onto Nicole Kidman & Daughters in Emotional Concert Photo

Family was still front and center for former “American Idol” judge Keith Urban during his first concert since his reported split from Hollywood superstar Nicole Kidman. People reported that while performing in Hershey, Pennsylvania, on October 2, the singer left a photo of Kidman and their daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, in his onstage slideshow for “Heart Like a Hometown.”

Urban drew attention at his September 27 show, just days before the divorce news surfaced, for changing the lyrics to “The Fighter,” a song he once said was inspired by his relationship with Kidman.

The original line, “When they’re tryna get to you, baby I’ll be the fighter,” was reworked onstage as, “When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie, I’ll be your guitar player,” in a nod to fellow musician Maggie Baugh, who was performing beside him. Baugh later posted the sweet moment on Instagram with the caption, “Did he just say that?”

Nicole Kidman Steps Out Quietly in Nashville

While Urban was back onstage, Kidman made her first public appearance since filing for divorce on Sept. 30. The “Big Little Lies” star was spotted hiking with her sister, Antonia Kidman, in Nashville on October 1, according to photos published by the Daily Mail.

The Oscar winner, 58, kept her look casual in black leggings, a gray zip-up sweatshirt, sneakers, a gray hat, and black sunglasses. Keith Urban also stepped out for the first time since Nicole Kidman filed for divorce — and his wedding ring was missing.

On Thursday, the “American Idol” judge was photographed getting off a private jet in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, just two days after Kidman filed to end their nearly 20-year marriage.

In photos published by TMZ, Urban wore a light gray jacket over a black printed shirt, paired with a black baseball cap and sunglasses. His ringless hand was visible as he carried a brown bag, signaling a new chapter as the couple moved forward, now separated.

Inside Their Summer Separation

Though the divorce filing surprised fans, sources told E! News the couple had been living apart since the summer. Kidman reportedly remained in their family home with daughters Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, while Urban stayed in a separate residence in Nashville.

Their last public outing together came at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 in Nashville, where they were photographed laughing and smiling. Just weeks earlier, in June, Kidman marked their 19th wedding anniversary on Instagram with the caption, “Happy Anniversary Baby.” Urban responded with a heart emoji but did not share a post of his own.

Kidman filed for divorce on September 30 in Nashville, where the couple has lived since 2007, according to court documents obtained by People. She listed their separation date as the same day and cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their divorce.

The pair wed in June 2006 after first meeting at a Los Angeles gala in 2005. They went on to welcome two daughters together, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. The filing followed a summer apart, with Kidman in London filming “Practical Magic 2” while Urban toured across the U.S., Canada, and Australia.

Neither Nicole nor Keith has made any public statement about their reported split.
