Taylor Swift has been all over the news on Friday, October 3, because she has a new album out, her 12th studio set, called “Life of a Showgirl.” Swift first really opened up about the album on Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs and Jason Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast back in August, just a few weeks before Kelce proposed to Swift and asked her to be his wife.
Now, the album is out, and there are all kinds of juicy tidbits on it. One of the songs on the album, “Wood,” seems to be a song about Kelce and how Swift was falling in love with him while she was making this record.
Doing the press rounds, Swift has opened up about Kelce’s proposal, and she’s also made a surprise announcement. Swifties won’t be happy to hear about this one.

Speaking on U.K. show The Graham Norton Show on Friday, Oct. 3, doing press for her new album, Swift talked about the moment Kelce proposed to her over last summer. She really made it sound perfect.
“He really crushed it when it came to surprising me,” Swift told Norton about Kelce. “We had actually filmed a podcast episode, he has a podcast called New Heights, so we filmed the podcast for about three or four hours … and meanwhile behind his house, he was having the whole back garden turned into this.”
She added, “And one of the things that he put in there, very strategically, was a wall of hedges that weren’t there before. And inside the hedges was my tour photographer hiding in bushes that had not previously been there.”
Swift also said that Kelce “went all out,” and she gave him a “10 out of 10” for his proposal.
So, how are wedding plans coming? When she was asked about it, she said, “You’ll know” and added that she wanted to “do the album stuff first, and the wedding is what happens after in terms of planning. I think it will be fun to plan.”
Taylor Swift Surprises the World With an Announcement
Doing more press for “The Life of a Showgirl” on BBC Radio 1 with Greg James on Friday, Swift actually said that he doesn’t have plans to tour to support the new album.
“Do you have the itch for another something soon?,” James asked her. “No,” Swift said. “No, I’m just going to be really honest with you. I am so tired, like when I think about doing it again. Because I want to do it really well… again. You know?”
Speaking with GQ magazine in August, Kelce talked about his lady. He opened up about how being a Swift fan and a fan of music and art in general.
“I get to be the plus one. I get to go and be that fan,” he said in the interview. “Because I am a fan. I’m a fan of music. I’m a fan of art. And it’s so cool that I get to experience her being that plus one for me on the football field…. I feel that same enjoyment every time she comes to my shows.”
So, it appears those who follow Swift will see more of her at Chiefs games than on the stage for a while, at least.
