Travis Kelce Gives His First Response to Taylor Swift’s New Album

It’s been a big day for Taylor Swift, who released her much-anticipated new album, “Life of a Showgirl,” on Friday, October 3. As expected, some of the songs on the album are about her soon-to-be-husband Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs, so it’s extra fun for Chiefs Kingdom to listen to the set.

So far, Kelce has been pretty tight-lipped about his thoughts on the album, but he’s finally made a public move that shows that, yes, he approves. It would be pretty wild for Kelce to not like this album, since he has said that he was a fan of Swift’s music before they were even an item, so it’s not a surprise that he’s being supportive of the set. Plus, Swift even gave listeners their first deep looking into the album on Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast back in August.

Kelce made a move on Friday that showed his support for Swift and “Life of a Showgirl,” and it was for the world to see.

On Friday, rapper 50 Cent heard Swift’s new album and was super happy to have his name dropped in it on the song “Ruin the Friendship.” He took to Instagram to announce the news, and he gave his own shout-out to Swift.

In a post, he said that Swift’s music was “popping right now” and that “she shout me out.” He added, “She don’t shout you out” and that it was for “big timers only.” He also seemed pumped that he’s the “only shout out on the whole album.”

The rapper also said in a different post that he’s a “low-key Swiftie” and urged people to check out the album, saying, “I like this album, check it out.” So, she has a fan in 50 Cent.

Kelce saw the post and liked it on Instagram, as captured by Elle. The magazine added that it was his first public reaction to the new album from Swift. It probably won’t be too much longer until Kelce says more about what he likes about this record.

Taylor Swift’s Secret to Success

So, how did Swift become such a global superstar? In a piece out on Friday, October 3, in CNBC, Sinéad O’Sullivan says it’s because she uses the “drip” method for releasing music. This method involves releasing songs and special releases here and there instead of all at once, and a lot of musicians use it today, including yours truly.

“Traditional entertainment was built on the ‘big drop,’” she notes in the piece. “An artist worked for years on an album, released it, and hoped the hype lasted. In many ways, Swift rewrote that playbook.”

Instead, Swift releases a bunch of material, in addition to her albums. She doesn’t just drop everything at once and then go away.

O’Sullivan notes that over the past five years, Swift has “released nine studio albums, including re-recordings of her back catalog, put out a concert film, and went on a global, record-breaking tour. Each project creates its own wave of attention and, crucially, points to the next. Fans never feel the silence between cycles.”

So, Swift stays in the public eye, and people like it that way. She’ll also stay in the public eye at Chiefs games this season.
