Jane Goodall’s Netflix interview is the premiere episode of Famous Last Words, a new interview series that plans to release final interviews with famous and important subjects following their deaths. Goodall’s winding and emotional interview covered many topics, but a clip of her shading Elon Musk is going viral.

In the clip, Goodall admits that there are plenty of people whom she does not like. She had a plan for those people, though. The famed conservationist would have liked to see the people she disliked, including several world leaders, packed onto one of Elon Musk’s spaceships and sent into space. She quipped that they could head off to “the planet he’s sure he’s going to discover.” When asked if Musk would be included on the guest list, Jane Goodall chuckled and said he could serve as the host for the voyage.

Hosted by Brad Falchuk, Famous Last Words is a new interview series that gives famous cultural figures the chance to reflect and share their wisdom and their opinions with the world without concern. The interviews are not released until the subject has died, allowing the subject to share anything they want without fear. Fans won’t know what cultural stars have sat for interviews until they have passed away. The interviews are kept highly confidential until they are ready for release.

While Jane Goodall’s final words on Elon Musk were especially poignant, it is not the only thing she has said about him. She might have explained why she disliked him just days before her passing. On the day of her death, Vogue Business published an interview with Goodall. She had sat down with the publication just a week before her death was announced to discuss her work and sustainability. During the course of the interview, she opened up about the importance of empathy and referenced a “crazy statement” Elon Musk made. She criticized the entrepreneur for claiming empathy was ruining the world during an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience.

To be fair, Musk apparently wasn’t a huge fan of Goodall’s either. Musk spoke out against Goodall’s thoughts on population control. Goodall argued that the growth in the population was the inherent cause of most of the world’s problems. Musk claimed that Goodall was arguing “in favor” of genocide. She did not respond to his criticism.
