BBC viewers are already addicted to the second season of a twisty and intense TV drama after eight new episodes were added to iPlayer.
Tell Me Lies, which was originally released on Hulu in 2022, follows the turbulent relationship of two college students over the course of eight years.
The series stars Grace Van Patten as Lucy Albright and Jackson White as Stephen DeMarco – the two meet each other at the fictional New York school, Baird College.
Based on the novel of the same name by Carola Lovering, Tell Me Lies has received generally favourable reviews from critics, with the series posting a 75% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Many of the fans watching the series, who have binged the 10 episodes from season one and the eight episodes from season two, have heaped praise on it.
Shine Bright said on Google reviews: ‘This show is insanely addictive and I’m ashamed to admit I’m way past the demographic this show is intended for!’

Marion Stevie agreed: ‘I loved this show and I enjoyed every minute I spent watching it. This show is everything about college life, toxic relationships, the friendships, and ups and downs.’
Meghna P defended the series from criticism: ‘Absolutely loved it—such a great series. You are supposed to be uncomfortable and you are supposed to not root for the main characters.’
In a more negative review, Noah McNeill said: ‘I’m surprised this got such a high review. Simply put the drama undertones just aren’t engaging enough to make up for how slow the rest of the show is.’

The BBC described the series on its website: ‘The one you’ll never forget. Toxic love, ruthless ambition and shocking betrayal. A passionate college relationship will have consequences they never could have imagined.’
Tell Me Lies’ cast also includes the likes of Catherine Missal, Spencer House, and Sonia Mena, while Miranda actor Gary Preston has joined the cast for season two.
The series has just been renewed for a third season, which is expected to drop on Hulu in 2026 – although it may not reach British viewers for a while if the timeline of season two is anything to go by.

Season two was first broadcast in 2024 but a UK streaming service has only just picked it up, indicating that it could be 2027 or beyond before the UK sees season three.
Tell Me Lies is created by Meaghan Oppenheimer, whose history in the industry includes credits for series such as Fear the Walking Dead, Zac Efron film We Are Your Friends, and Catherine Zeta-Jones series Queen America.
The BBC has compared the series to Sally Rooney adaptation Conversations With Friends, and Eve Myles drama series The Guest.
Although, watching the show should come with a warning that it has gained a reputation for its frank depictions of sex and nudity, so perhaps should be avoided until younger family members aren’t present.
Watch season one and season two of Tell Me Lies on BBC iPlayer now.
