About two weeks after he had core muscle surgery, Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson wouldn’t give a timeline about when — or whether — he will return this season. Speaking on his regular appearance on WSCR-AM’s “Spiegel and Holmes,” Johnson said he was “moving around a lot better” since having surgery to fix a groin problem.
Johnson missed all of training camp after tearing the adductor muscle off his pelvic bone in July. He returned and played Week 2 against the Lions but left the game after hurting a different part of his groin. The Bears put him on injured reserve, making him eligible to return after at least four games.
“The biggest thing for me is to try to just get healthy as quick as I can,” he said. “For me, I’m ot putting a timeline on anything. I’m not going to say, ‘Oh, yeah, I’ll be good in 6-8 weeks.’ I’m not going to say I’m going to be good in three months, after the season. I can’t tell you that.
“I just know for me it’s just going day by day, trying to get my body stronger, and then just really kinda stripping everything and trying to see where the issues are. Clearly soft-tissue issues stem from other things a lot of the time. For me it’s trying to figure out where mine stems from.”
