MILWAUKEE — Cubs left-hander Shota Imanaga has struggled with the long ball.
He came to Chicago with a reputation of being a fly-ball pitcher, and it burned the Cubs in a must-win Game 2.
Imanaga allowed four runs over 2⅔ innings in Game 2 of the National League Division Series. He allowed five hits and struck out three. The Cubs offense struck first with after a three-run homer by right fielder Seiya Suzuki.
Then in the bottom half of the first, Imanaga allowed a two-out, three-run homer to Andrew Vaughn that tied the game. In the third, Imaanga allowed a solo homer to catcher William Contrereas, and a single to Christian Yelich before being pulled by manager Craig Counsell.
Imanaga has allowed a homer in each of his last 11 games after Monday’s two bombs.
Pride in the Brewers is at an all-time high.
