All Elite Wrestling fans are concerned after a beloved star suffered a nasty injury during last night’s Collision tapings.

On Wednesday night, AEW wrestler Kota Ibushi had to be stretchered out of the arena after falling to the floor from the top rope in what appears to have been a freak accident.

According to numerous fans in attendance for WWE’s rivals, the Japanese wrestling legend’s match with ex-TNA Wrestling star Josh Alexander had to be cut short.

According to F4WOnline, one of the wrestler’s legs appeared to ‘give out’ while he was stood on the top rope, which led to him falling to the floor below.

He was then stretchered out of the main arena and taken to hospital in an ambulance, with fan footage showing him being wheeled through the venue.

AEW boss Tony Khan addressed the live crowd later in the show, and led the audience in chanting Ibushi’s name.

He said: ‘The most challenging sport of all when it comes to injuries, the hardest hitting sport of all is professional wrestling. Thank you for being so respectful and let’s give it up for Kota Ibushi!’

Ibushi had been out of the ring for almost two years before returning to action in June 2025, leading to a match against Kazuchika Okada on the Dynamite 300 special.

A few weeks later, the wrestler – who has dealt with injury setbacks since signing with AEW in 2023 – confirmed he had inked a new contract with the promotion.

He said on Instagram at the time: ‘This was amazing! A turning point in my life. I never thought I’d get to ride in a private jet! And I signed a two-year contract renewal’

Now, fans are concerned for his immediate future after Wednesday night, with no official word on the exact injury or a potential recovery timeline.
