She has a sister who was adopted from the same orphanage, although the two are not biologically related. Lewis and her sister, Lydia, were raised in Windermere, Florida. Their parents, Frederick and Lorraine, both work in real estate.
Lewis was born on December 9, 1996, making her 28 years old at the time of writing.
Leah Lewis Was the Lead in a Netflix Movie
Lewis has had quite a prolific career for her young age. In addition to her series regular role on “Matlock,” Lewis was the lead in the Netflix romance movie, “The Half of It.” The film arrived on the streaming service in 2020 and followed Lewis’s character, Ellie, as she helps her classmate write love letters to his crush, while secretly developing a crush of her own. The movie is loosely based on Edmond Rostand’s 1897 play “Cyrano de Bergerac.”
Lewis’s voice work can also be heard in the 2023 Pixar film “Elemental” and Paramount+’s “The Tiger’s Apprentice.”
Leah Lewis Is Also a Talented Singer
“Matlock” fans will know Lewis isn’t just an actor, she also has a great singing voice. In the show, Lewis shows off her singing ability during an episode where she and Kathy Bates’s title character journey to a retirement home. There, they find themselves face-to-face with a dementia patient, but Lewis’s character Sarah knows how to handle the situation, as her grandmother had dementia. Lewis sings Patsy Clineâs âWalkinâ After Midnightâ and escorts the elderly woman back to her room.
In fact, Lewis is such a good singer, she auditioned for NBC’s “The Voice,” according to IMDb. Lewis also collaborated on a song with Payson Lewis called “Back in Time.” You can listen to the song below:
