Vanessa Feltz admits she’d ‘rather be a prostitute than go on I’m A Celebrity’

Vanessa Feltz has revealed that she has turned down I’m A Celebrity seven times.

The TV presenter, 63, said she would rather earn money as a sex worker than become a campmate on the ITV series.

Vanessa, who hosts her own self-titled daytime show on Channel 5, spilled the beans on why she has continued to turn down the jungle.

The series, hosted by Ant and Dec, returns this winter with a new batch of stars all braving the Australian jungle.

But speaking to The Sun, Vanessa said: ‘I just don’t want to do it.

‘So I just hate it so much. I’d really hate it, hate it. I just don’t want to do it, but they never think that I really mean it.

‘They always think that I must want more money and I just don’t, I don’t want to do it.

‘That’s how I feel about that. Seven times. The answer is no, thank you. I just don’t want to do it, I’m telling the truth.’

Vanessa’s strong stance may come as a surprise to viewers who saw her on the first ever Celebrity Big Brother and the Ultimate Big Brother in 2010.

Her first appearance is infamous for her ‘meltdown’ where she wrote on the kitchen table.

After being put up for the public vote, Vanessa stole the chalk used for the shopping board and began frantically writing on the kitchen table.

She later explained that the act was born out of boredom.

Earlier this year, the 63-year-old announced she was leaving This Morning after 33 years.

The broadcaster was a regular contributor to ITV, but now has her own show on Channel 5, which she has described as a ‘politics-free zone’.

However, in June her new talk show was hit with nearly 2,000 Ofcom complaints after fashion designer Karen Millen, who was invited on as a guest, called a mother ‘selfish’ for wanting to breastfeed.

Vanessa reportedly asked Karen what she thought about breastfeeding a three-year-old child.

Karen replied: ‘There’s no benefit, is there, for a child to be breastfed beyond six months really. I think it’s quite a selfish thing on the mother’s part.’
