NHS staff at a north London GP clinic were left to clean up a ‘disgusting mess’ after a man smeared dog faeces on the surgery entrance.
Philip Blackmore, 67, took his anger out on the practice in Angel by throwing bottles into the car park.
He also used a bike lock so staff could not open the gates.
It is thought he targeted the surgery in retribution after his partner was let go.
Blackmore, who lives on Essex Road, Islington, pleaded guilty to four counts of criminal damage to Elizabeth Avenue General Practice, which serves 8,000 patients, earlier this month.
A practice source told Metro: ‘It was very distressing for staff, and we also had to clean up the disgusting mess he created every time.
‘We were really upset by this campaign of harassment and even more surprised when we found out who it was.’
Blackmore, a travel and lifestyle writer according to his LinkedIn profile, was handed a two-year conditional discharge after being sentenced on October 2 at Highbury Magistrates’ Court.
The Crown Prosecution Service confirmed Blackmore’s partner had worked at the practice for 10 years before she was dismissed on ‘capability grounds.’
His subsequent behaviour was allegedly retribution for the loss of his wife’s job, according to a practice source.
Blackmore, whose LinkedIn says he attended the University of Kent from 1978 to 1981 on LinkedIn, conducted his campaign of abuse from August to September in 2022.
He caused significant distress to staff at the GP in that time until the local health board intervened and installed a security camera to catch him in the act.
The practice source said the installation of CCTV at the practice was ‘a huge waste of NHS resources’ as the harassment ‘didn’t stop.’

They claimed it continued ‘for months until he was caught on camera.’
Blackmore must not re-offend within two years or he will likely be handed a custodial sentence, the CPS warned.
The four criminal damage charges were dated on August 29, September 3, September 4 and September 19, 2022.
He was sentenced for ‘intending to destroy or damage such property or being reckless as to whether such property would be destroyed or damaged’, referring to the GP gate and car park facilities.
The CPS corroborated the charges against Blackmore, stating: ‘Mr. Blackmore attended the address and either threw bottles into the car park, smeared dog faeces onto the lock securing the front gate, or prevented the gate from being opened by putting a bike lock through the gate loop.’
