Lily Allen is set to ‘drop a secret album written in just 10 days’ over seven years since her last release.
The singer rose to fame in 2006 with her debut single Smile, which reached number one on the UK charts.
Her debut album Alright, Still sold over 2.6 million copies worldwide and earnt her a Grammy Award nomination too.
In the years since she’s released another three albums – the most recent, No Shame, being in 2018.
Since then, fans have eagerly been awaiting new music, however there’s been a few delays along the way.
Although Lily spent five weeks in a music studio in 2022, she said it felt ‘contrived’ and the music was not ready to be released.

Then, last year, the singer revealed she’d recorded around 50 songs for her next music project, which she was still working on.
However, it’s now been claimed that she’s set to drop a new album very soon.
The Sun has reported that after Lily spent ‘years struggling on new music’, she’s astonished her team by putting together her entire fifth record’, which is already completed and ready to be released.
‘Lily wants to really surprise people with this new music, and everyone has been sworn to secrecy,’ a source told The Sun.
‘It will tell the story of her move to New York and also how she coped with the breakdown of her marriage to David Harbour.

‘There’s a real outpouring of emotions in it. She’s not had the easiest time and she’s ready to bare her soul.’
Earlier this year it emerged Lily had split from her Stranger Things actor husband, 50, whom she met in 2019 and married the following year.
Following their split, it was reported that he’d been on dating apps while they were still together and also engaged in a three-year long affair. Late last year Lily described ‘not being in a great place mentally’ and later that she was ‘feeling like a burden when low and lonely’.
Regarding her new music, The Sun also reported she’s signed with record label BMG, which works with Kylie Minogue and Rita Ora.
The music update comes a few weeks after it was announced Lily was quitting her BBC Sounds podcast Miss Me?, which she had co-hosted with best friend Miquita Oliver since it launched in March last year.

In an episode Lily confirmed it would be her last appearance for the foreseeable future.
‘I think it’s good that we’re gonna have some time away from doing this together, because I don’t think we’ll really understand what we’ve done here without having that,’ she told her co-host.
‘I want you to go and have some adventures and focus on your sh*t,’ said Miquita, who will continue to present the show.
‘I want to take Miss Me to new places. When you do something you have to be brave to let it become other things. It will always be something that started with our friendship, but I think there are more places for it to go.’
Lily leaving the show fuelled speculation that she was set to release new music.

In March it was reported she was ‘approached by record labels’ and planned to return to music after seven years.
When first announcing the end of her run on Miss Me?, she also explained: ‘I’m going to be stepping away from the podcast to do some other things. But it’s not goodbye forever, it’s just goodbye for now while I go and do some new stuff for a little bit.’
On the podcast in January, she also teased fans saying she was ‘going to do some more writing and hopefully, maybe get an album out by the end of the year’.
“That would be nice, wouldn’t it? It’s not real, I’m just trying to manifest it now. Listen, I’ve got this. We’re bringing Lily Allen back in 2025,’ she added.
