Boutique Owner Remembers ‘Magnetic’ Diane Keaton Helping Choose Her Daughter’s Wedding Gown

Diane Keaton’s impact reached far beyond Hollywood. The legendary actress, who passed away on October 11 at 79, is now being remembered for one of her most touching off-screen moments—helping her daughter, Dexter, pick out her wedding gown at a California bridal shop.

“We are heartbroken to hear of the passing of the iconic Diane Keaton,” Saint Clark Bridal Suite wrote in a touching Instagram post on October 14. “A legend on screen and a light in person, Diane once came into our boutique with her daughter to help choose the perfect wedding gown.”

The post continued, “From the moment she walked in, she didn’t feel like a celebrity; she felt like an old friend. Wholesome, vibrant, full of color and warmth, she made everyone around her feel instantly at ease.”

‘Her Love for Her Daughter Was So Beautifully Evident’

The bridal shop described how Keaton’s personality left a lasting impression on everyone she met. “Her presence was magnetic, her humor effortless, and her love for her daughter so beautifully evident,” they shared. “It was a moment we’ll never forget, and one that so many women around the world can relate to, because Diane was, and always will be, a gift to women everywhere.”

Saint Clark Bridal Suite closed its tribute by extending “deepest, most heartfelt condolences” to Keaton’s family and thanking her for the joy and inspiration she brought to the world.

Dexter Keaton’s Wedding Day Was a Family Affair

Dexter, now 29, married Jordan White in California on June 12, 2021, seven months after their engagement. The bride wore a stunning lace-trimmed gown with a V-neckline, while Keaton opted for a cream pantsuit paired with white boots, a turtleneck, and her signature wide-brimmed hat.

After the wedding, Dexter shared several photos from the celebration on Instagram, including a sweet family moment featuring her mother and brother, Duke. In 2023, she also posted a throwback photo of herself dancing with Keaton at the reception, writing that it was one of her favorite memories.

A source told People that Keaton’s passing came as a shock to those who loved her, sharing that her health “declined very suddenly.” The source added, “Her death was so unexpected, especially for someone with such strength and spirit.”

“In her final months, she was surrounded only by her closest family, who chose to keep things very private,” the source said. “Even longtime friends weren’t fully aware of what was happening.”
