Vicky Pattison might be impressing the judges on Strictly Come Dancing, but her journey hasn’t been all plain sailing thus far.

The 2015 I’m A Celebrity winner and former Geordie Shore star, 37, hasn’t had the easiest time of it behind the scenes of the BBC dancing competition.

Training blisters affected her first couple of weeks as a dancer and she dubbed the 23rd season’s launch show as the ‘worst experience’ of her life.

Despite all this, Vicky has improved week-on-week thus far, landing scores of 23, 24, and then 25 from the judges across the first, second, and third Saturday shows.

However, Vicky has admitted the pressure did get to her during week three as her dancing partner Kai Widdrington joined her for a candid sit-down interview.

On the Get A Grip podcast, which Vicky hosts with former Strictly star Angela Scanlon, she and Kai recounted an experience during which a wardrobe malfunction caused havoc.

Things got heated according to Vicky (Picture: Get A Grip/YouTube)

‘Saturday was just like a disaster from start to finish,’ she began, saying that, while things went alright on the live show, dress rehearsals were a different story.

‘You know my little headdress thing. Obviously I had a wig as well. So they put that on. We were dancing in the dress rehearsal, and obviously there’s a move where my head goes down and comes up.

‘The head piece just totally like detached from the wig and fell over my face. And I kept trying to shove it up, and it just kept falling back over my eyes.’

Vicky then revealed that Kai tried to get her to continue the dance and ignore the wig issue, but she admitted she ‘had to stop’ after feeling ‘so stressed out and angry’.

When the dress rehearsal was over, Vicky’s frustration didn’t subside straight away, and was unfortunately directed at one of her Strictly co-stars.

‘When I was finished – that is in the official dress rehearsal – Tess [Daly] goes “Oh, you had a bit of stress with your head piece there!”

‘I said [to Tess], “My f*****g wig fell off!”‘ and there were kids in the audience, all these families coming to watch, and so Tess is like, “I’m just gonna have to apologise to the children.”‘

Vicky recovered to score 25 out of 40 from Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas, and Anton Du Beke and made it through to week four.

Speaking on the podcast as well, Kai mentioned that he has noticed big improvements in Vicky’s dancing, as well as a transformation in her attitude.

‘She’s actually good. Yeah, I’m not duping her this week. She said to me today, after we did the routine, she was like, “I actually like this one,” which I never thought I’d hear. She seems to be growing in confidence.’

One person apparently hoping that Vicky gets voted off this weekend is her husband, Ercan, as the couple is apparently on a ‘sex ban’ while the series takes place.

Vicky told the Mail On Sunday: ‘I’m so exhausted, training for many hours a day. I’m still working – I’m podcasting, doing all my social bits, I have just launched a clothing collection. Things are full on.

‘So after a full day doing the Charleston you don’t fancy going home and doing the mattress Mambo. He’s [Ercan’s] having to be a little bit patient with us at the minute.’

Vicky then joked: ‘I think he’s potentially one of the only people in my inner circle, who’s hoping I’m getting booted out.’
