Dia de los Muertos
On Sunday, Nov. 2, Redwood City’s Courthouse Square will transform into a tribute to life and remembrance for a Día de los Muertos celebration. Hosted by Casa Círculo Cultural and the San Mateo County History Museum in partnership with the Redwood City Parks & Arts Foundation, this annual cultural event invites the community to come together to honor loved ones and experience the traditions of this holiday.
The event features live performances, Catrina face painting, contests, local art installations and a ceremonial procession through downtown. Dozens of family altars will be displayed, each telling stories of those who have passed.
Inside the San Mateo County History Museum, guests can explore a free exhibition of community-made ofrendas, while children enjoy interactive activities like sugar skull workshops and chalk drawing. A food court, decorated with papel picado, will serve traditional dishes.
Children’s Hospital ranks high
