Sleepless nights were inflicted on several towns and villages in West Yorkshire after a makeshift rave blasted loud music from Saturday night until late on Sunday morning.
The typicallly quiet Holme Valley erupted with the echoes of thumping bass at 1am.
Locals took to social media to complain, saying their families were unable to sleep.
Police attended the scene but did not immediately shut down the event, where the music and revelry continued until at least 10am.
Revellers described the event as a ‘free party’, suggesting it was held illegally.

Footage taken in the morning shows dozens of young adults and teenagers crowded around a soundsystem playing ‘hardtek’, a fast, pounding genre associated with DIY raves.
One couple from the nearby town of Meltham told YorkshireLive: ‘The noise has been horrific all night.
‘We have young children, including a baby who has been disturbed by the noise too.
‘We thought it was neighbours at first having a house party! We’ve all been there but come on at least put some decent music on!’
Ravers said they had come from as far away as Manchester and insisted they cleaned up any litter left by the event.
