The very first season of the Celebrity Traitors is almost at the halfway point, with just five episodes of nine remaining on the BBC series.
Thus far, six of the 19 famous faces who started the competition have been either murdered by the Traitors or banished by the Faithfuls.
Out of the three Traitors – Jonathan Ross, Cat Burns, and Alan Carr – none of them have been identified, leaving the big cash jackpot under threat.
However, according to fans of the series, there’s one Faithful in particular who might be about to swoop in, catch the Traitors out, and save the day.
So far, she’s made big headlines for flatulence, but it might be flatfooting that Celia Imrie is remembered for by the time the competition draws to a close.
A fan theory posted on Reddit has teased something that would blow the competition – and the entire show – wide open if the user behind it is barking up the right tree.

‘The existence of a detective in the game will be revealed to us sometime this coming week, then at some point later on to the Traitors.’
They explained their thinking: ‘The very first 30 secs of episode one, in which Claudia was hanging portraits of the players. She says “as for this one…” then Celia’s portrait winks at her.

‘Claudia replies “knockout”. None of that makes any sense – but it all happens in such a blur you forget it immediately.’
Prize_Razzmatazz_289 said that members of their family have noticed little hints along the way, including Celia changing her nomination for a potential Traitor at every roundtable thus far.
The user also theorised that her open declarations during the game about ‘snooping’ are a hint at what’s to come, while the now-famous fart might be a hoax to cover up any clues on social media.
What do you think of the Celia Imrie detective theory?
-
I’m convinced it’s true!
-
Absolute rubbish in my opinion
-
I don’t believe it but I want to
-
I have no idea what Claudia has up her sleeve

EuanBCFC put it best in the comments: ‘I think you’re seeing things where there’s nothing to be seen… but god I hope you’re right, would be even more sensational TV.’
ThatFishBish agreed: ‘I don’t think the producers are hiding anything from us, but god this would be amazing to watch. Celia is so much fun!’
New_Girl3685 didn’t take much convincing: ‘I think you’re wrong but you pitch this SO well that I’m now thoroughly onboard. Well done.’
Some fans also wondered if Celia would be about to use her experience of filming Netflix crime comedy The Thursday Murder Club to her advantage.
So far on the show, Paloma Faith, Tom Daley, and Ruth Codd have all been murdered by order of the Traitors, while Niko Omilana, Tameka Empson, and Clare Balding have all been banished.
Watch the next episode The Celebrity Traitors on BBC One, 9pm. Wednesday, October 22.
