Ski films celebrating the power of powder coming to theater (or brewpub) near you
Snow guns are running on multiple Colorado mountains, a sign that ski season is fast approaching. Another harbinger is that the annual ski movies are coming soon to a theater or brewpub near you.
The Warren Miller film, which debuted last weekend in Salt Lake City, includes segments shot in Mammoth, Calif., British Columbia, Scotland, Finland, Steamboat Springs and at last year’s world alpine ski championships in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Austria. The segment shot at Ruby Hill runs more than nine minutes, focusing on fun and inclusivity. Watch the trailer here.
The Matchstick Productions film includes segments shot at Arapahoe Basin, Steamboat, British Columbia, Alaska, Norway and Japan. Watch the trailer here.

Colorado ski areas currently engaged in snowmaking operations include Arapahoe Basin, Loveland, Keystone, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Winter Park, Vail and Beaver Creek.
