The Golden State Warriors open the NBA season against the Los Angeles Lakers. Tipoff is Tuesday at 7 p.m. Pacific Time at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
The Warriors and Lakers will both be missing a starting forward in the game, though the profile of the two players are less equal: LeBron James is out with sciatica, while Moses Moody is out with a calf injury.
Luka Doncic will be the emphasis of the Warriors’ defense as he begins his first full season with the Lakers. James is expected to miss a few weeks with his nerve issue. Jimmy Butler, who has missed some time this preseason with a knee injury, is expected to play in his first season opener alongside Steph Curry and Draymond Green for the Warriors after arriving from Miami at the trade deadline last February.
