Jamie Laing left Jon Bon Jovi stunned on the latest episode of The One Show, as he revealed he had lost his virginity to one of the singer-songwriter’s hits.

The pair were on the sofa in the BBC One studio, with hosts Alex Jones and Clara Amfo.

The discussion had turned to Bon Jovi’s new album Forever (Legendary Edition), which dropped this week featuring duets with the likes of Robbie Williams and Bruce Springsteen. The rock icon also this week announced Bon Jovi’s 2026 UK and Ireland tour.

During the discussion, the Made in Chelsea alum Laing asked whether Bon Jovi was planning to play his 1986 smash hit Livin’ on a Prayer while touring.

‘That song means a lot to me,’ Laing told him as the pair were sat next to each other in the studio sofa.

Bon Jovi questioned why that was and a smiling Laing replied: ‘I lost my virginity to it.’

The US singer was clearly tickled by the admission, looking behind the cameras in the studio as he said: ‘Now we’re talking. There goes the family show ratings. The producers are running. What did you do?’

Laing then looked somewhat nonplussed as he questioned: ‘What? When I listened to it?’

It was at this point that hosts Jones and Amfo decided to intervene – perhaps with the audience and Ofcom in mind – as Jones said: ‘Let’s not, this is a family show.’

Bon Jovi agreed, saying: ‘We don’t need the details,’ while Jones ended the exchange by saying: ‘It’s an important song, lovely.’

When announcing the tour this week at a Wembley Stadium press conference, Bon Jovi described the long and uncertain road back to performing after undergoing vocal cord surgery.

‘I didn’t lose faith, but I had no idea how protracted the recovery would be,’ Bon Jovi told reporters, including Metro.

‘The surgeon did an incredible job, but he had said to me, “I promise you nothing, stay the course.” When we put out the Forever album last June to coincide with the 40th anniversary, I fully anticipated being able to support it, but as the record was coming out and we started to rehearse, I just wasn’t up to the standard that we’re accustomed to.’

‘We went back to the woodshed,’ he said. ‘I’ve been playing four nights a week for the last three and a half years, but only to an audience of me. I have a whole setup at home to work on, and I meet with the vein specialist once a month to mark the progress. Now it’s ready to go.’

The announcement marks a triumphant comeback for the Rock & Roll Hall of Famers, who will return to major live shows for the first time in years.

The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.
