Beloved Author & Wellness Expert Passes Away — Statement Reflects Deep Sadness & Love

Author and clinical and holistic nutritionist Christa Orecchio was a celebrated figure in the wellness community, with tens of thousands of followers on social media. A devastating announcement was made on October 22 when it was revealed that she had passed away.

​A lengthy statement was shared on Instagram by her team. They gave no cause of death or details about when or how Orecchio passed. 

 “It is with an unbearably heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of our dear friend, Christa Orecchio,” the statement begins. “To have known Christa was an extraordinary gift. Over the past 18+ years, she devoted her life to the healing of tens of thousands around the world, guiding them with unwavering purpose, compassion, and her steadfast belief in the power of food as medicine. Her presence was fierce, magnetic, and transformative … felt deeply by anyone fortunate enough to cross her path or call her a friend.”

The post also celebrated Orecchio for her many talents and the multiple roles she had. This includes “devoted mother, daughter, sister, confidant, healer, and a true force of nature.” The person behind the announcement revealed that her death left an “immeasurable void, one that will be profoundly felt by the vast community she built with love, intention, and light.”

The statement continues, “Life, in all its beauty and fragility, is a journey, one that calls us to learn, to love, to evolve, and to leave the world better than we found it. Christa did exactly that. As we grieve this tremendous loss, may we honor her by carrying forward the mission she so passionately lived: to help ourselves and one another feel whole, vibrant, and alive, just as we were always meant to.”

Fans Show Love for Christa Orecchio

Fans have flooded the Instagram announcement’s comments section, sending their love and condolences to Orecchio’s family. However, many are also desperate for answers.

“Is it possible in the coming weeks to share more context on what happened? This is really hard to understand for many of us who felt her joy and are trying to process this very sad news,” a comment reads. “Sincere prayers for her family and sweet son.” 

“I am heartbroken. She was an incredible soul. Courageous and such a warrior for good sending so much love to her family,” another comment reads. 

A third comment reads, “When he found out the other day, both of us were shocked and heartbroken. Rest in peace dear friend. You will me missed.” 

Orecchio had an impact on the lives of many of the commenters, but the team behind Orecchio’s account informed her fans of why they would not be releasing more information about her death at this time. “We know many of you are heartbroken and may have questions. Out of respect for Christa’s family and loved ones, we’re not sharing details publicly at this time,” a comment reads. “The outpouring of love from this community means so much. Thank you for holding space and honoring her beautiful spirit with us.”
