Miami Dolphins safety Ashtyn Davis did not practice on Monday and head coach Mike McDaniel says he is “day-to-day.”
Davis left Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons and did not return after suffering a quadriceps injury during the Dolphins’ first defensive series.
“So Ashtyn was something he couldn’t play in the game. The short week is what’s in question for him,” McDaniel said Monday. “In short weeks, I operate pessimistically. Not on the athlete but for planning purpose. But he’ll be day-to-day.”

Minkah Fitzpatrick Has Minor Finger Injury
Miami may be thin at safety against the Baltimore Ravens on “Thursday Night Football” if Davis and Ifeatu Melifonwu (hand) are unable to play. Their potential absences could push Elijah Campbell or rookie fifth-round pick Dante Trader into a starting role alongside Minkah Fitzpatrick. Davis’ participation in practice over the next two days will be key in determining his availability for the matchup with the Ravens.
Fitzpatrick also left Sunday’s game in the fourth quarter with the finger injury, but McDaniel said the injury is of no concern and he would have been cleared to play if the score was more competitive.
Dolphins Bulldozed Falcons in Atlanta
The Dolphins (2-6) secured their first road win of the season on Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium by blowing out the Falcons (3-4) thanks to a balanced offensive attack and a strong defensive showing. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa led the charge with four touchdown passes, while running back De’Von Achane contributed 91 scrimmage yards and a touchdown.
On Miami’s second possession, Tagovailoa finished off a 13-play, 79-yard drive with a 3-yard touchdown pass to Achane with 2:38 left in the first quarter.
Atlanta responded early in the second quarter with a 45-yard field goal from kicker Parker Romo, but Miami’s defense quickly forced a three-and-out on the Falcons’ next drive. After Atlanta punted from its own 8-yard line, the Dolphins took advantage of the favorable field position, adding a 34-yard field goal by Riley Patterson to stretch the lead to 10–3.

With under five minutes left in the half, Tagovailoa led one of Miami’s most impressive drives of the season — a 10-play, 82-yard march capped by a 9-yard touchdown pass to Malik Washington in the front corner of the end zone with just 11 seconds remaining before halftime.
The Dolphins ran away from the Falcons in the second half, winning comfortably by a score of 34-10.
Tagovailoa completed 20 of 26 passes for 205 yards and four touchdowns, while Achane contributed 18 carries for 67 yards along with five receptions for 24 yards and a score. Jaylen Waddle led all receivers with five catches for 99 yards and a touchdown, and Washington added four receptions for 36 yards and another score. Ollie Gordon II also chipped in with 10 carries for 46 yards on the ground and a 20-yard touchdown reception.
