Chris Evans has welcomed his first child with his wife of two years Alba Baptista.
The Captain America actor, 44, and the Portuguese actress, 28, just celebrated their second wedding anniversary and have now added a new member to their family.
Baptista gave birth to a baby girl the couple have named Alma Grace, in Massachusetts, Boston on Saturday.
The couple have given their daughter both of their last names, Baptista Evans, according to the birth certificate seen by TMZ.
The couple had not shared the news that they were expecting a child, but rumours had emerged in recent months that a baby might be on the way.
Evans’s father-in-law, Luiz Baptista, shared a hint on social media when he commented on a fan-made Father’s Day tribute for both Alba and Evans’s dads, writing: ‘Chris, your turn is coming!’
Evans confirmed to Access Hollywood that he would ‘absolutely’ love to become a dad, during a November 2024 interview.
‘Yeah, I hope so,’ he told the outlet. ‘The title of dad is an exciting one.’
Evans was first linked to the Portuguese actress after the pair were spotted holding hands in November 2022.
Reports later emerged that they had been dating for over a year, with one source sharing Chris had ‘never been happier.’
The couple said ‘I do’ in 2023 at an intimate at-home wedding ceremony in Massachusetts.
An insider shared that the guests signed NDAs (non-disclosure agreements) and ‘phones were forfeited.’
Page Six also claimed that the couple invited their closest family and friends as well as Evans’ Marvel co-stars Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth and Jeremy Renner.
Evans subsequently shared that the couple got married twice, in two different ceremonies.
He told crowds during a ComicCon appearance in New York: ‘I got married. It was really, really great.
‘We actually had two ceremonies. We had one on the East Coast, we did one in Portugal. My wife’s Portuguese [to huge cheers]. Yeah, go Portugal!
‘They were wonderful and beautiful. It’s a lot, planning a wedding, it takes a lot out of you. But now that we’re through that, we’ve just been enjoying life, gearing up for autumn – my favourite season.
‘It’s the best time of year right now. Now we’re just relaxing, enjoying life and reflecting.’
