King Charles Just Put His Foot Down as Andrew Can No Longer Use ‘Prince’ Title and Must Leave Royal Lodge Home

Prince Andrew is a prince no more.

The disgraced royal’s older brother, King Charles, has come down with the hammer on his sibling, who recently relinquished his Duke of York title.

A statement released on Oct. 30, read: “His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew. Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.”

In addition to the prince title–given to him at birth–Andrew will also lose the titles of Earl of Inverness, Baron Killyleagh, the style “His Royal Highness,” and the honors of the Order of the Garter and Knight Grand Cross of the Victorian Order.

But that’s all. There has been plenty of chatter and reports over the last several days that it would be difficult, if not impossible, to get Andrew and his former wife, Sarah Ferguson, to leave their Royal Lodge residence, thanks to a 75-year lease agreement. But Andrew will now surrender that lease.

The statement continued, “His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence. Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease, and he will move to alternative private accommodation.

“These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him,” the statement continued. “Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.”

According to The Mirror, “Andrew will move to a property on the private Sandringham Estate. Also, all future accommodation will be privately funded by the king.
