Vera Wang, 76, defies age once again in chic crop top

Vera Wang has defied her 76 years (again) in a tiny black crop top at the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Fashion Awards.

The celebrated fashion designer paired the thin black bralette with an opalescent white, floor-length maxi skirt that trailed behind her on the red carpet.

The off-shoulder sleeves of her top pooled around her elbows, adding a chic, glamorous elegance to the otherwise simple garment.

Avoiding the flashing bulbs of the cameras, she wore dark square-shaped shades on her eyes.

She completed the look with a simple hairstyle, wearing her signature long brown hair dead straight and parted at the centre.

The look showed off her stomach and decolletage, highlighting that the designer looks far younger than her 76 years.

This isn’t the first time the star has been praised for her youthful appearance.

Wearing a cropped look made of a bralette and a silk dress at the 2023 Baftas, the star was branded ‘immortal’ by fans.

At the 2022 CDFA awards, fans also insisted that she was ageing in reverse, and had found the fountain of youth.

The star has addressed her ageless appearance in the past. In 2020, revealed she was surprised at the reactions to her age after a viral shot of her toned abs.

The designer went viral after showing off her toned physique and long legs in a crop top and shorts, with fans stunned to discover she is in her eighth decade.

Speaking to People, the American fashionista revealed she thought people would be more excited by her hairclips in the shot.

‘I was totally shocked. To be perfectly honest, the real goal of that picture was [to feature] the hair clips I had in my hair. And hair clips don’t exactly show up that well in a picture. 

‘So we really had to minimise whatever I was wearing and to keep the focus on my hair and those crystal clips. And the fact it became about my Palm Angels workout top was so crazy.’

She added: ‘I always thought of myself as somebody who, in all fairness, was the creator and not the subject matter. So it was sort of shocking. I can’t lie to you.’
