The Dallas Cowboys continue to be linked to star players throughout the league in the final hours of the NFL trade deadline. Dallas already struck a trade with the Cincinnati Bengals for linebacker Logan Wilson.
Could another deal be in the works before the 4 p.m. Eastern deadline? On Monday, owner Jerry Jones hinted that Dallas was working on three separate trades, but the team’s 27-17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals could squash this notion.
The Cowboys are 3-5-1 heading into a bye week, and there does not appear to be one trade (or even three deals) that will save Dallas’ season. It is still worth keeping an eye on what the Bengals do with 4-time Pro Bowl pass rusher Trey Hendrickson.
Could the Cowboys and Bengals strike one more deal? Let’s dive into the latest Cowboys news and rumors at the NFL trade deadline.
Cowboys Rumors: ‘Phones Are Buzzing’ About More Potential NFL Trades
NFL insider Jordan Schultz hinted that Dallas is considering more potential moves. It remains to be seen if the latest Cowboys loss puts a damper on potential trade plans.
“Will there be more for the Cowboys….?” Schultz noted in a November 4, message on X. “Trade deadline is today at 4 ET. Phones are buzzing.”
Cowboys Trade Rumors: Dallas Has Explored a Potential Deal for Bengals Pass Rusher Trey Hendrickson
On the eve of the trade deadline, Schultz provided an overview of the Cowboys’ search for defenders. Hendrickson is one of the players who Dallas has kicked the tires on a potential deal.
“Sources: The Cowboys have held trade discussions with multiple teams regarding defensive players — believed to be focused on pass rushers and linebackers — and the expectation is that at least one deal will be finalized by Tuesday, as owner Jerry Jones hinted today,” Schultz remarked in a series of X messages on November 3.
“My understanding is the Cowboys have spoken to the Bengals on DE Trey Hendrickson and LB Logan Wilson, and to the Dolphins on OLB Bradley Chubb. They’ve had talks with other teams as well. ‘At least one deal is getting done somewhere,’ a source said.”
Potential Cowboys Trade Target Trey Hendrickson’s Market Value Is Projected To Be a 4-Year, $133 Million Contract
Hendrickson and the Bengals have been in a standoff regarding his longterm future. The star finally agreed to a restructured one-year, $29 million deal to play in 2025. Unless the Bengals use the franchise tag, Hendrickson will be a free agent in 2025.
Spotrac projects Hendrickson’s market value to be a four-year, $133 million contract. Will the Cowboys be willing to give up significant draft capital while also signing the pass rusher to lucrative new deal? Time will tell.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that the Cowboys are among the “interested teams” in Hendrickson. Dallas would likely be looking at giving up a high day 2 draft pick to land Hendrickson, if Cincinnati opts to part ways with the Pro Bowler.
“Up to this point, the Bengals have rebuffed trade inquiries, and sources have maintained that Cincinnati has no plans to trade Hendrickson right now,” Fowler wrote in an October 29, story titled, “NFL Week 9 latest buzz, trade deadline questions, news.” “The Cowboys and 49ers are among the interested teams, though San Francisco made a move for a pass rusher Tuesday night.”
