Where can I vote in person?
You can use the state’s online tool to find polling places statewide. They will be open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Can I register on Election Day?
You can register in person and cast your vote on the same day at your county elections office.
How do I find out if I’m registered?
Check your voter status at the secretary of state’s website.
When is the deadline for voting by mail?
Your ballot must be postmarked on or before Nov. 4 and received by county elections staffers by Wednesday, November 12. You can also drop off a ballot on Election Day at a polling place or an official dropbox.
Can I get paid time off work to vote in person?
Under California law, an employee whose Election Day work schedule does not allow enough time for voting can request up to two hours of paid time off at the start or end of the shift to go to the polls.
How do I know if my mailed ballot has been received?

When will California’s results be announced?
The first results will come out shortly after the polls close, at 8 p.m. Pacific time.
