A longtime beer maker near Colorado Springs will soon be no more, but drinkers will still be able to visit the taproom and sip a few of its beloved recipes.
Pikes Peak Brewing Co. in Monument, which opened in 2011, will become Goat Patch Brewing Co. at the start of 2026. Goat Patch acquired the brewery in November 2024, as it sought to expand production, and over the last year invested in some infrastructure there, such as the building’s foundation.
This week, the company announced it would transition the Pikes Peak facility to become the third Goat Patch location in an effort to streamline the production, expand distribution and focus promotional efforts behind a single brand. Co-owner Cate Baze said by email the decision to sunset Pikes Peak was difficult, but ultimately necessary to “ensure the Monument taproom stays strong long-term.”
“That required unifying under the Goat Patch name so we can invest in new beers, new events, and a sustainable future for the location, staff, and guests. The spirit of Pikes Peak isn’t disappearing, it’s just evolving,” said Baze.
To honor Pikes Peak’s legacy, Goat Patch will continue brewing two of its most popular recipes, Elephant Rock IPA and Gold Rush Belgian-style golden ale. Both of those are expected to be available at the Monument taproom, as well as at local retail stores.
Opened in 2017, Goat Patch Brewing now boasts three locations — two in the Springs and one in Monument. Baze said there are not currently plans to expand further.
