An X-Factor star has shared a concerning health update from her hospital bed following a mystery illness.
Rowetta Satchell took to social media to reveal that she had been admitted by medics ahead of a surgery.
The 59-year-old, who has recorded and toured with the band Happy Mondays, gave her thanks to doctors for ‘stepping in last minute’.

Later, Rowetta added: ‘Big love and thanks to St Mary’s for stepping in last minute.
‘Came out of surgery smiling. What a wonderful team.
‘Back on the ward now, morphined up for the pain, but – all went well, home tomorrow and should be good to sing again next week.’
The 59-year-old, who appeared on X Factor in 2004, has not disclosed what her medical condition is.
This comes after she revealed on social media two years ago that she was in hospital for a previous operation/

In 2004 she then appeared on The X Factor, featuring in the over 25s category.
Her performances on the talent competition earned her glowing reviews, before she was eliminated at the quarter-final stage.
Overall, she ended up finishing fourth and was the last remaining woman in the competition.
When Happy Mondays reformed in 2012, Rowetta joined original band members, including Shaun Ryder and Bez, as they embarked on a reunion tour.
Before joining Happy Mondays, Rowetta was a regular fixture on the Manchester music scene.
