Kim Kardashian claps back at critics labelling show as ‘worst drama of all time’

Kim Kardashian has hit back at critics for labelling her new drama as a ‘crime against television’.

The first three episodes of All’s Fair, which boasts a star-studded cast from Glenn Close, Naomi Watts, Sarah Paulson, Niecy Nash and Teyana Taylor, debuted on Disney Plus earlier this week.

Written by American Horror Story’s Ryan Murphy, the series follows a team of female divorce attorneys who open their own practice in L.A.

However, despite it racing up to the number one spot on Disney Plus’ charts, TV fans and critics have slammed the series as being ‘one of the worst TV dramas ever’.

Now, Kim, 45, has clapped back, asking her 354 million Instagram followers: ‘Have you tuned in to the most critically acclaimed show of the year!?!?!? All’s Fair streaming now.’

Posting a series of fans’ posts about the show, one comment joked about how critics aren’t realising that ‘their reviews of All’s Fair ended up making people watch and love the show’.

Kim also shared a post that said: ‘[All’s Fair] dares to ask the question “does a show need to be good?” and the answer is no, it doesn’t.’

The comment continued: ‘We have legendary actresses here giving the worst performances of their careers, it takes a special kind of talent to pull that inability of them. Amazeballs.’

This comes after Guardian TV critic Lucy Mangan gave the series a zero-star rating, described the series as being ‘fascinatingly, incomprehensibly, existentially terrible’.

She wrote in her review: ‘I did not know it was still possible to make television this bad. I assumed that there was some sort of baseline, some inescapable bedrock knowledge of how to do it that now prevents any entry into the art form from falling below a certain standard.’

‘But I was wrong. The new series from Ryan Murphy, ‘All’s Fair’ – starring Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts and Niecy Nash as the founders of an all-female law firm delivering divorce-y justice to incredibly rich but slightly unlucky women under the azure skies of California – is terrible. Fascinatingly, incomprehensibly, existentially terrible.’

Also giving the series a zero-star rating, The Times’ deputy TV editor Ben Dowell wrote: ‘Well done, Kim. You must have quite a healthy ego yourself to star in what may well be the worst television drama ever made.

‘Because ‘All’s Fair’ (Disney+) is so bad, it’s not even enjoyably so. It thinks it’s a feminist fable about spirited lawyers getting their own back on cruel rich men but is in fact a tacky and revolting monument to the same greed, vanity and avarice it supposedly targets.

‘All scripted, it feels, by a toddler who couldn’t write ‘bum’ on a wall.’

Taking to social media, fans were similarly harsh on the show, with @tv_scholar describing the All’s Fair pilot as ‘being the worst television I’ve watched all year’.

@Ash57610568 also wrote: ‘I watched #AllsFair , and simply put it’s not a good show… really gave it a chance and it’s not because of one person. The writing sucks and it’s just no substance… from any character.’

On Rotten Tomatoes, the series currently has a 0% score and 3.5 rating on IMDb.

One user, trevangos, described the series as a ‘monstrosity’ on IMDb, saying: ‘The scripts are utterly stupid. Story telling is basic, naive, boring, predictable.

‘Directing is a disaster. Even acting is mostly terrible, those legends of the art can’t show quality.

‘The main event of this series, Mrs KK, is what everyone expected: a cold mess. It is really painful to watch this immensely awkward freakshow, filled with childlike dialogues. A disaster.’

However, while most viewers heaped criticism on the series, some fans praised the show for being ‘gloriously silly’.

@biscuit_ersed said on X: ‘I’ve started watching All’s Fair, and it’s gloriously silly. Selling Sunsets meets Suits meets Real Housewives. I’m addicted.’

@gtru_star77 also argued: ‘The show is a fantastic dramedy and the cast is ICONIC. #AllsFair is funny, camp and full of interesting female stories. Critics want to hate on it because of Kim 🙄 but I hope fans and viewers give it a chance. Also, some fun cameos too.’

An official synopsis of the series reads: ‘Fierce, brilliant, and emotionally complicated, they navigate high-stakes breakups, scandalous secrets, and shifting allegiances — both in the courtroom and within their own ranks. In a world where money talks and love is a battleground, these women don’t just play the game—they change it.’

Both Kim and her mother, Kris Jenner, are executive producers on the show, which is said to be inspired by celebrity divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, who was Kim’s attorney for her divorces from Kanye West and Kris Humphries.

All’s Fair is available to watch on Disney Plus.
