After he was ejected from last week’s matchup, Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Travon Walker has been fined by the NFL for punching Las Vegas Raiders offensive lineman Stone Forsythe.
The NFL announced a hefty amount of fines Saturday. Walker was fined $12,172 for unnecessary roughness for “striking/kicking/tripping/kneeing.” The punch happened in the third quarter with 6:29 remaining.
While Walker was penalized and ejected, Forsythe also was penalized for unnecessary roughness, but was not listed in the league fines on Saturday. Walker also punched a player last season.
The Jaguars went on to beat the Raiders in overtime, 30-29.

Coach Liam Coen Said He Didn’t Know What Happened
Head coach Liam Coen said after the game that he hadn’t seen what happened following the play and wasn’t sure exactly what Walker had done to warrant the ejection.
“He responded to what he mentioned was something, and they’re always going to get the second guy and it’s just the way it is and we can’t have it,” Coen said. “We can’t have that. And he knows that.
“Frustrating moment for sure. But those are the things we have to avoid as a team, as an organization because all it does is make us a little bit handcuffed.”
Walker, who threw the punch with his right hand, happens to be playing with a brace on his left hand after injuring his wrist, requiring surgery earlier in the season.
Travon Walker Has Appetite for Aggression, Threw Punch Last Year
Walker was flagged but not ejected for throwing a punch during a 2024 matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. The 15-yard penalty essentially ended the Jaguars chances to comeback against the Vikings last season.
After that game, Walker was asked about the penalty and admitted he was surprised to have been flagged — despite the fact that throwing punches, whether before or after the whistle, is clearly against the rules.
“The ref basically, literally, said I was too aggressive after the whistle was blown,” Walker said postgame. “So that definitely surprised me — [the] referee telling me that I’m too aggressive in the game of football. … I own up to that, but in the midst of it, I hope everybody on my team knows what I was doing, and that’s what matters.”
Walker appeared to argue that he was trying to punch the ball loose from running back Aaron Jones, but in reality, his actions looked more like a wild flurry of punches well after the play had ended.
The NFL later fined Walker $11,817 for unnecessary roughness stemming from the incident.
This year’s incident, however, was unmistakable — a direct swing at Forsythe’s face mask. Walker is fortunate to have avoided a suspension.
The 2022 No. 1 overall pick out of Georgia, Walker posted a career-best 10.5 sacks last season with Jacksonville. So far this season, Walker has only recorded two sacks.
