A Russian crypto millionaire has died after his Lamborghini burst into flames after flipping over.

Alexei Dolgikh, 36, was driving three friends in his nearly £330,000 Lamborghini Urus at 93mph when he crashed on a highway in Moscow.

Dashcam footage showed the businessman losing control, failing to make a turn and colliding with a guard rail at 1.30am local time.

Dolgikh and passenger Ivan Solovyov died in the collision along the International Highway, police told the Russian news agency TASS.

Nikita Tezikov, 21, and Kirill Mochalov, 22, were taken to Botkin Hospital, suffering from an open leg fracture and multiple fractures, respectively.

Footage from the scene shows the vehicle overturned on its roof and engulfed in flames, with wads of Russian ruble notes littering the road.

The preliminary cause of the crash was driving over the speed limit, investigators told TASS. The speed limit of the road is just under 70mph, according to Transport in Moscow.

A police source added: ‘Experts are currently working on it, and the exact cause will be determined during the investigation.’

Prosecutors have since taken over the investigation, the office said on Telegram.

Dolgikh had been blacklisted by Russian banks in recent months amid accusations of money laundering, according to multiple Russian outlets.

He has been fined 586 times, mostly for speeding tickets, in the past 15 months since buying the Lamborghini, Russian outlet 24CMN reported.

Dolgikh’s car was involved in a high-profile shooting in September last year at Patriarch’s Ponds, an affluent neighbourhood in Moscow.

An argument outside the Aist restaurant ended when a man, Dmitry Kh, pulled a non-lethal pistol and fired a shot into the air.

Kh fled the scene in a Lamborghini later revealed to be owned by the crypto millionaire. Kh was arrested shortly after.

Dolgikh voluntarily reported to the police station to deny any wrongdoing. No charges were ever brought against him.

He is the second high-profile Russian crypto trader to have died in recent weeks.

Roman and Anna Novak, who vanished in the United Arab Emirates last month, were found dismembered in a desert.

They were last seen before driving to meet ‘unidentified investors’ by a lake in Dubai’s mountain resort of Hatta.

Three people have been arrested and remanded in custody until December 28.
