K-pop singer Hyuna issued an apology to fans after she fainted onstage during a festival performance.
The Trouble Maker hitmaker, 33, collapsed during a performance of her song Bubble Pop! at Waterbomb 2025 Macau music festival.
Footage of the incident shows the singer, full name Kim Hyun-ah, dancing flanker by backup dancers, before she suddenly drops to the stage.
Help comes to her immediately, and she is carried off stage by a security guard.
It came after fans raised concerns about her health and rapid weight loss, with Hyuna sharing a post on social media in October vowing to lose weight, and a subsequent update on November 4 claiming she had lost 10kg in just one month.
Before this, followers had speculated whether the singer was pregnant and said that she had gained weight following her marriage to Yong Junhyung.
After the incident, Hyuna updated fans on her health and apologised, saying she felt like she ‘wasn’t professional.’
‘I’m really sorry. It was a short break between performances, but I wanted to show you my best. I don’t remember anything that happened, and I feel like I wasn’t professional,’ she posted on social media.
‘I’ll try to build my strength and keep working hard. It would be great if everything went the way I want, but I’ll try. I want to thank you for loving and supporting me from when I was so young until now.’
Fans have rallied around the artist, sharing messages of support, with Not_a_swallowtail commenting: ‘I’m rooting for you because you’re human and not perfect. Even professionals will collapse if they push themselves too hard. Take your time, and it’s okay to wait until you’ve fully recovered.’
M_amelien added: ‘We only care about your health unnie. we love you so please take care 🫶🏻🥹✨.’
Many urged her to ‘take care of herself’, while others simply stated she needed to rest as much as possible between performances.
‘Hyuna🥹🥹🥹 ur health comes first. We, ur fans, will always support u no matter what💗’ Allemood assured.
It’s not the first time Hyuna has fainted, with the release of her album I’m Not Cool being delayed due to vasovagal syncope, according to her then label P Nation.
Vasovagal Syncope is a type of fainting that is caused by a fall in blood pressure, sometimes attributed to standing for a prolonged period of time, heat, stress, dehydration, and pain.
