Nearly six years on from Caroline Flack’s death, a new documentary is looking into the final 24 hours of her life.

In February 2020, the Love Island presenter took her own life aged 40 after learning that prosecutors would be pursuing an assault charge against her.

Two months earlier, she’d struck her boyfriend Lewis Burton with a phone while he was sleeping after discovering texts from another woman.

This week the film, Caroline Flack: Search for the Truth, was released. The two-parter follows her grieving mother, Christine, who has taken it upon herself to investigate what really happened to her vivacious daughter – and why.

However overnight Burton shared a post on social media in which he claimed there were ‘false accusations’ about him in the documentary.

Here’s everything we know about the former couple – and what he’s said in the years since Flack’s death.

After Flack’s death, Lewis took to social media to pen a tribute to his late girlfriend. ‘My heart is broken we had something so special.’

‘I am so lost for words I am in so much pain I miss you so much I know you felt safe with me you always said I don’t think about anything else when I am with you and I was not allowed to be there this time I kept asking and asking.’

The post concluded: ‘I will be your voice baby I promise I will ask all the questions you wanted and I will get all the answers nothing will bring you back but I will try make you proud everyday.

‘I love you with all my heart.’

Where is Lewis Burton now?

Lewis Burton, 32, is an ex-professional tennis player, who is now a luxury travel and hospitality entrepreneur with a business called Twenty3Club. The business specialises in curating luxury VIP travel experiences.

Five months after Flack’s death in July 2020, Lewis confirmed that he was in a relationship with Lottie Tomlinson, 25.

Lottie is a social media influencer and the younger sister of One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson. She was just 21 when she met Lewis, who was 28 at the time, at a party and they began dating.

It was thought that the pair bonded over grief as she too had lost her mother and sister in the space of three years when they first met.

The video showed that Lewis proposed to his girlfriend of three years at their home with a trail of red rose petals and candles, with their son joining them for the happy moment.

Earlier this year, in January, they welcomed their second child – daughter Flossie Grace Burton. Lottie called her the ‘most beautiful addition’ to the family.
