Chicago police released pictures of two people they want to identify in connection with the fatal shooting of a “hardworking” man and his son after their Little Village jewelry store was robbed nearly a week ago.
The two sought were described by police as males, one of whom was wearing a black North Face hooded jacket, a brown brim baseball hat, glasses, black cargo pants and gray sneakers, while the other was wearing a tan bucket hat, a Blackhawks jersey, tan pants and black shoes, according to a police alert.
Faustino Alamo, 63, and his son Luis, 25, were gunned down about 5:50 p.m. Nov. 8 outside their shop in the 3800 block of West 26th Street when a man with a gun parked across the street and then walked into the jewelry store. He grabbed some jewelry and ran out of the store.
The Alamos ran after him and then got embroiled in a fight with the robber who opened fire. Faustino Alamo fired off one or two shots with his own weapon, according to a police report.
The shooter was last seen traveling south on Springfield Avenue in a white Maserati SUV.
A $10,000 reward is being offered through Cook County Crime Stoppers, and the family has started a GoFundMe to help with expenses.
